Ranger Leuer served in the United States Army for over 32 years, commanded at every level from Platoon Leader through Division Commander. He served as a Battalion Commander with the 101st Airborn Division in Vietnam. Retired from the U. S. Army as a Major General on October 1, 1998. His last duty assignment was as Commanding General, Fort Benning Georgia. |

Ranger Leuer is an active member of the community and civic leader. His achievements, both as a Military Officer and civilian volunteer, are numerous. I consider him to be a personal friend as well as a Fellow Ranger. General Leuer has also entered the Ranger Hall Of Fame.
